CoppaFeel! used Dig In welcome boxes to put shower hangers into first-year bedrooms, reminding new students to check their chests from day one.
The brief
CoppaFeel! wants young people to check their chests regularly and know the signs of breast cancer. New students are hard to reach with a health message, and many had not heard of the charity.
What we did
We put a CoppaFeel! shower hanger in the Dig In welcome box, waiting in students’ bedrooms on arrival day: 104,380 hangers in 2023. Each year we surveyed students on awareness, the hanger’s design and whether it changed their confidence in checking.
The result
104,380
shower hangers delivered to students on arrival day, Freshers 2023
95.8%
said the hanger increased their awareness of the importance of checking for signs and symptoms, n=336, Freshers 2024
94.3%
said it increased their confidence in how to check their chest regularly, n=336, Freshers 2024
77.4%
said they would display the hanger as a reminder, n=336, Freshers 2024
What it means for brands like yours
A health message works best where the habit happens. A shower hanger in a new bedroom keeps the reminder in front of students long after Freshers week, and the survey shows it changed how confident they feel about checking.
